Billing Representative Position Summary:

The Billing Representative is responsible for generating and processing all billing for Hosparus Health. The Billing Representative must maintain relationships and be in constant contact with the financial intermediary, Medicare, Medicaid, and payors to enable timely research and resolution of problems with patient billing.

Billing Representative Position Duties & Responsibilities:
--- Reviews status changes for accuracy and completeness and makes updates to the status module as appropriate.
--- Follows up and analyzes outstanding patient accounts and takes necessary action to resolve the account.
--- Attends departmental meetings and webinars.
--- Assists with coverage for insurance verification and admissions as needed.
--- Works with Patient Benefits Representative to ensure proper authorization and/or resolve authorization issues.
--- Monitors levels of care for accuracy and works with teams to resolve discrepancies.
--- Generates and processes all activity related to billing on a monthly basis.
--- Processes 81As, MAP forms and other transactions timely as needed upon admission.
--- Ensures all primary, secondary and physician claims are processed timely and accurately.
--- Monitors aging reports continuously to ensure timely follow up of all claims.
--- Generates corrections as needed and resubmits corrected claims timely.
--- Creates requests for adjustments as appropriate.
--- Posts and reconciles payments and ensures balance to general ledger each month.
--- Ensures accurate transmission and receipt of monthly billing and electronic file.
--- Maintains communication with appropriate payers as needed to ensure timely resolution to all claims.
--- Utilizes electronic clearing house/systems to monitor and generate all corrections with payers.
--- Resolves inquiries from patients, staff and hospital/nursing home providers regarding billing issues to expedite reimbursement.
--- Other duties, as assigned.
Billing Representative Position Qualifications:
--- High school diploma required.
--- 2-4 years of medical billing or other medical field-related experience, including Medicare, Medicaid and other third parties required.
--- 3-5 years of general office experience required.
